Back Tracking in Time, Chapter #08
Summary: Videl divorces and get the sole custody of Pan. But this isn’t enough, she decides to break the saiyan psychic bond uniting her with Gohan bringing him on the verge of death. Will Trunks manage to save Gohan with the imprinting ritual Vegeta mentioned?…
Author’s Notes: This story is freely inspired from the movie “Back to the Future”.
Gohan and Trunks were scouring the north district when they felt the first shimmering force of Gokou’s Ki rising. Both stopped dead in their aerial flight, heads cocking towards the direction Gokou’s energy was coming from.
“What do you suppose is wrong Gohan?” Trunks sounded worried and more than a little irritable as he addressed his significant other.
“I can’t imagine why dad would power up since he’s looking for Pan, unless……” Gohan’s words trickled off to nothing as he looked towards the central part of Satan City, his brow creased in a worried frown.
“What? What do you mean unless? Gohan explain what’s on your mind before I get really worried!” Trunks scowled at his dark haired companion, looking as if he was about to grab him and shake him like a rag doll. Gohan never had a chance to answer as a huge ball of bright greenish hued light, that scorched everything in it’s path, erupted from the centre of town, levelling several buildings, and most of the trees in their vicinity.
The force of the blast ripped up telephone poles as well, leaving behind a fair amount of destruction as it swept over the two demi-Saiyajins, hurling them both to the ground. “What the Hell…?” Trunks yelped as he leapt to his feet first, Gohan rising more slowly, jaw hanging open in surprise.
The lavender haired prince turned towards his dark haired mate, looking troubled. “That wasn’t Gokou ,…. was it?” The doubt shone in his eyes as he asked tremulously.
“No way! That was definitely not my dad. I think we have a lot more than Pan’s disappearance on our hands, Trunks. We’d better get over there and help dad out if he needs it.” Gohan shook himself and leapt into the air, fear gripping his heart.
Trunks nodded to himself and leapt after his beloved with no other thought, but to protect Gohan from whatever had the kind of power levels to do so much damage as they looked down upon, as they flashed overhead, gaining speed in their urgent race to the epicentre of the massive debris path that now lay beneath them.

Vegeta’s head whipped up, and he shuddered, as an old, but somehow familiar energy washed over the Capsule Corporation household. He felt the gravity room shudder under the added stress of the presence that flashed and swelled around the house. His eyes unfocused as his mind trailed back to a long ago, distant time in his life when he had been temporarily assigned to Glacier, and Ice, King Cold’s elder brother, and his son’s battalion to bring down the Sazarealz planetary population.
He had been fourteen when he had felt that kind of power, and presence, for the first time. It was an unchanging nightmare that plagued him even now as a grown man. He had learned the true definition of terror that had no definable depths, as he had witnessed the large animal that had lain waste to the whole of Glacier and Ice’s vast warrior assembly.
The young animal had destroyed most of the elite class battalion during it’s power up, in preparation to strike out with a speed and power that had defied description.
He remembered those massive jaws with their orange acidic fluid that had eaten a hole in the ground mere inches from his boots, and those glowing bluish flaming eyes that had glared at him, tapping into his every thought, dissecting his very soul in a flash of burning agony before it had pulled it’s massive head back and telepathically had given him the right to flee the battle scene.
The beast had been called Star Might by the natives. They had left him unmolested as he had been freed by the Kines’ hatchling to leave in peace. The power ebbed as Vegeta shook his head, clearing it of the image that had been the source of so much fear in his lifetime.
If one of the great Star Mights had landed on Earth…..? He refused to allow himself the luxury of finishing the thought as it formed in his head. He only knew he had a better chance than anyone of communicating with the creature if it was one of the huge draconic species that so many worlds worshiped as Gods. He had met with, and survived, one of their kind. He knew what to do, to survive the wrath of another, he was pretty sure.
Vegeta straightened his shoulders, a look that proclaimed that he would die if need be, firm upon his features. He knew that he would die with his dignity, if only to protect what he had found on this little planet, on the edge of known space if that is what it came to when he confronted the ancient being that was now on his adopted home world creating chaos to it’s delight. He had a daughter, a wife, and a grown son, who he wouldn’t stand by and see killed by anyone, or anything.
The dark haired prince swept out of the gravity chamber, features set in a harsh mask of indifference, as he stalked through the Capsule Corporation household, heading towards the doorway and his awaiting destiny.

Gokou took up a defensive stance as the alien dragon unleashed a blast of green fire from it’s maw. The horrible power that hurtled through the air, towards his position, was too powerful for him to block, but it was also too powerful for him to allow to hit the planet beneath his feet. The concussion of the blast would rip the city apart at the very least, and it had the potential to destroy the planet also.
Goten, sensing the dilemma, leapt to his father’s side, his own aura a brilliant golden glow, as he shot a blast of Ki straight into the ball of green fire that shot towards the two Super Saiyajins like a comet of divine retribution.
Although she was not pleased with having to unite her abilities with those of the arrogant Saiyajin, who had irritated the Star Might Dragon in the first place, Aurora added her own substantial power to the combined attack that the two Saiyajins who were valiantly trying to alter the fierce blast’s course by hitting the energy wave with everything they had.
Aurora was aware of the consequences of failing to turn the huge ball of power from it’s unintentional, earth bound strike. Aurora didn’t care whether the arrogant, angry man, who had angered Briloshen, survived or not, she didn’t want to die just because Briloshen was using enough power to destroy the formidable powerhouse that had so foolishly attacked the Dragon’s friend without conscious awareness of the consequences of his actions.
She screamed at the huge beastly apparition, who was unthinkingly about to destroy his target, as well as everyone on the small world. “Briloshen you have to stop or you’ll kill us all! We don’t breathe vacuum like you do damn you!”
The huge dragon heard her, she supposed as the blast suddenly shifted, rolling back up towards the huge beast’s maw, vanishing, along with the combined heavy blast of Ki that Goten and Gokou had fired into the massive ball of fiery force Briloshen unleashed upon them. “As you wish Star friend. I will dispose of these fools the slow way then.” the huge jaws moved as the ancient animal spoke in halting basic language, a strange hissing, syllabant accent tarnishing the words.
“It takes a lot more than words to get rid of me.” Gokou shouted at the monstrous beast crouching in front of him. “You took my grand daughter and I’m only gonna give you one chance to return her or I’ll rip you apart!”
Eerie blazing blue orbs, whirled with flashes of lightning, glaring down at the tall Saiyajin warrior in contempt. “You will not hurt me nor anyone of the Kines’ friends.” Faster than Gokou could comprehend, the attack slashed across his back, long spikes slashing his Gi to ribbons as the monstrous creature’s tail whipped across his body burying him in several feet of granite.
Gokou lunged up from the newly formed crater, charging towards the immensely powerful dragon intent on hitting it hard. His attack never got close to it’s target as one of the huge blade like hands that had emerged from the Star Might’s chest whipped forward, ripping into his shoulder, flinging him back with terrible force.
Gokou slammed into the ground once more, leaving another huge crater in his wake. He picked himself up more slowly, checking the damage to his bloody shoulder, before launching back into the fray.
Goten lunged in between his father and the giant reptile that hissed menace at the older of the pair, challenging Gokou to continue his impossible quest for vengeance. “I am the ruler of the Kines, and I will see to it that you harm none foolish mortal.” The huge maw, orange acid flowing faster as the beast’s head dove for Gokou’s body flashed forward.
“My kind once allowed mortals to destroy our ranks because we so hate destroying those weaker than ourselves.” Gokou twisted to the side, launching himself heavenward trying to evade the massive snapping jaws that were bent on his death.
“I, however, don’t play such games any more!” the beastly, syllabant, hissing voice thundered at the tiny insignificant sized Saiyajin warrior, as it expertly by-passed his companion, in seeking retribution.
Two energies, both large, and impressive for mortals, flared into quick life a few short feet from Gokou, one slamming into Briloshen’s nose with a hearty booming crack of fury.
Briloshen jerked back in surprise, shaking his head at the mild concussion that was no more significant than having his nose tapped by one of the hatchlings who wished his attention. “What’s this?” Briloshen asked in startled consternation.
Briloshen looked down at Trunks and Gohan, mildly surprised by both small men, who stood in mid-air, shoulder to shoulder, the taller, dark haired member looking over at the male who had caused such irritation in the first place. “You ok, dad?”
“Gohan, get back that thing’s dangerous!”
“No Kidding, Gokou! Do you think we’re stupid or something?!” The golden aura that shimmered around the shorter member of the two new editions flared brightly as the super Saiyajin screamed in sarcastic fury at the annoying arrogant older Saiyajin.
“You have no idea if you think that creature is simply dangerous, Kakarotto!” another voice joined the group as a known presence flashed to a halt a few feet away from the bulking monolith that rumbled a draconic laugh at the irony of meeting the young Saiyajin Prince once more.
“Well met, little Prince. I see that you did as we suggested.” the huge dragon, twisted his massive head to eye the diminutive Super Saiyajin, much to everyone’s surprise.
“Lord Briloshen, You now this one?” Aurora’s voice rang clearly across the distance as she demanded to know what the Dragon meant by his address.
“Yes, Kines’ Friend. I know this one.” The huge glowing eyes shimmered as the beast looked down towards the powerful, rainbow hued ball that encased one of the tiny mortals he wished to keep safe.
Vegeta felt hope flare in his breast. The huge draconic creature recognized him which meant that he had a real chance of salvaging the situation before the massive beast chose to destroy their home world. “It’s a pleasure to see you again, little Prince.” the reptilian voice thrummed amicably as he looked down at Vegeta. “We have kept our word to you as to our end of the bargain highness.”
“Huh?” the Prince looked towards the dragon in confusion. “What of the bargain?” he demanded imperiously, frantically attempting to recall the past, and the bargain the Kines’ leader spoke of.
“Bargain?” Trunks chose to jump into the conversation that the Star Might Dragon had been having with his father, feeling reasonably certain that Pan would be safe, even if she was currently upset. “What kind of bargain did you make with this creature, father?”
“It’s none of your concern, Brat!” Vegeta bellowed at his grown son.
“Did you not visit there to see if we had kept our word to you.” Vegeta kept his memory lapse to himself as he pretended to find the Kines’ leader’s words offensive.
“Why would I need to doubt your word? I only check up on those who I know have a problem with doing what they say they will do.” He bluffed.
Turning back towards his long time rival with a snide imperious gesture, “Kakarotto what do you think you’re doing pissing off a Star Might Personage? Have you completely lost what few undamaged brain cells you supposedly own? This is an immortal God that you’re thinking to challenge you idiotic clown.” The Prince No Oji screamed at the tall glowering Super Saiyajin who was on the verge of attacking the mighty dragon again.
“Vegeta, that animal took Pan, and won’t give her back!” Gokou bellowed at Vegeta as the smaller man blocked his newest attempt at a charge, by grabbing onto his good shoulder and dragging him backwards, away from the irritated Kines’ Leader..
“Pan?! What do you mean he’s taken Pan?” Gohan and Trunks both screamed in horror simultaneously.
Author’s Note : I expect that some will take offence on my having put Gokou in the spot of getting his butt kicked. To be blunt.. I am sick of him being portrayed as practically being a God at times and undefeatable… So if it made you mad that Gokou got smacked down a bit… Just keep in mind that he is up against a God who would make the Kais look like cupi-dolls with rip cord action and sound kind of ideal. :)

xDD How funny. I don’t think it was a bad idea to get Goku pummeled. I mean he’s not always th strongest and it seems more real if he gets pummeled by a freaking GOD!!! I mean if he beats a god then imma start thinking how invincible Goku really is. xD
