Hope Chapter #9 by Lady Katt

 

 

 

Gohan POV

I walked for hours trying to sort out what Vegeta had said and these mixed up feelings that were over taking my mind, the rush of warmth before he took of he was looking at me with eyes that wanted so much but was afraid to ask. The fear I felt when he took off the terror when he would not wake up. Deep down I was scared it took Vegeta so long to come back I though Mirai would die in my arms even now there is no guarantee he will live or even want to after what I did to him

You may need to take the chance to be able too see why he is here and why he ran from you today I keep repeating this in my mind over and over again.

“Could he really care for me that way and why he barley knows me, On the other hand maybe it is his mentor in the other time he is wanting I am him in away maybe he is trying to replace him with me…no he said we were different I remember him saying that. I wish I knew what to believe.” I looked up at the sky the sun was behind the trees, this told me it was getting late in the day and how long I have been out here trying to think straight

“I need to get back this is not solving anything only talking to him will” I whisper then look towards the shelter as a string of emotions washed over me they were not mine trying to concentrate I pinpoint them to our cabin

So much pain, Mirai is it you are you…No it is Vegeta? What is wrong? I thought as I flew back to our little home rushing inside I saw Vegeta on the floor curled in a ball trying to steady his breathing I went over to him, he was by the door leading to where Mirai was resting in the regen tank…

“Vegeta, you are ok what is wrong?” I ask kneeling beside him

“Hn.” He grunted as a spasm took his body as he went to stand up. I try to help him Vegeta shook his head trying to push me away. Not sure what to do I stopped as Vegeta slowly got to his knees breath coming out in rasps as he kneeled on the floor his hands holding him up. His head lowered

“I am fine brat.” I shook my head not believing him as he tries to hide his pain from me

“What is wrong?” I asked the proud prince who was now slowly standing up

“Nothing” he hissed leaning against the wall, I growled worried and frustrated

“You are a liar, no wonder he hides what he feels until it boils over, it’s in his blood.”

“Hn, in yours as well brat…you are like him so worried about others and what the world will think of you instead of worring just once about your own happiness” Was all Vegeta could manage to say as another spasm hits he stays against the door frame his breath coming out in rasping gasps

“There is nothing you can do Gohan…later talk later…not right now” Vegeta said softly as he held his hand against his chest eye closed as he tried to fight off the pain he could no longer hide from me. I wondered how long he has been like this an is this the true reason I did not see him for so long he was sick and did not want my pity

Damn your pride

“Why not now, Vegeta tell me what is wrong, please tell me, you tell me to trust you but you won’t trust me?” I try to get him to tell me what was wrong I knew Vegeta has been worn out this past year every day becoming harder on his mind. But this was different some how

“It is nothing bad, well depending on your point of view I guess…” he tried to sound like it was nothing to worry about for one moment his ki dropped to nothing then came back slowly as his breathing became slower. Watching him brought back images of father when I was younger the pain he was in from the heart attack he had. The only difference was Vegeta was awake where dad was not

“Vegeta, no please no I need you” I whisper starting to realise the truth, and not liking it one bit looking up at me

“Yes, it is my time, but not until my job is done I made a promise and I intend on keeping it no matter what”

“I don’t under stand Vegeta”

“Shh go to your friend Gohan, you need to be with him right now not with me I’ll be fine for now. He should be waking soon and hopeful fully healed so you can get your answers if you are not afraid to asked them” he looks away from me hiding the pain now he is in control of it again his pride as strong as ever.

Why don’t I believe you Vegeta…alright I will go I thought as I walked into the bedroom where my friend was still in a deep sleep, I left Vegeta in the other room alone with this feeling it would be the last time I would see him…

“Mirai come on you have taken a worse beating from Cell now get out of there so I can hurt you for scaring me.” I said as I placed my hand on the glass watching him, he was dreaming a deep frown cover his face as he was seeing something that bothered him

Can you feel your fathers pain, yes you can oh Mirai please I can not be alone again

“Please Mirai I need you. You and Vegeta are all I have left and soon I will have just you. Please I…I love you now and before, I just didn’t want to see it, to see would mean I would be venerable again and I would have to admit what I had with her was a lie to please my mother… but don’t care about all that now I love you Mirai Trunks come back please you saved me why would you just to leave me hear if you did not care?” I say aloud as Mirai’s words ring threw my mind, I remember the day he came back the day he saved me

“Go away” I had yell at him

“Not a chance I Hell…you will never be alone I am here” he had sounded so sincere so sure. Leaning my head on the window trying to calm my mind I say aloud

“You made a promise and I expected you to keep it” Tears ran down my face, I could not stop them even if I wanted too. I heard a beeping noise as the tank drained on it own. Backing away as it opened, I watched Mirai Trunks stand up stiffly and shaky his hair pressing against his wet skin, all he was wearing was a pair of shorts Vegeta put him in as I got the tank ready

“MIRAI!” I lunged for him helping him out and to the bed near by. Tears were still running down my cheeks. Mirai Trunks looked at me as he raised his hand too stroke the tears away. His warm touch sent chills threw me body as I look at him our eyes meet

“You are too handsome to have tears staining your face Gohan. Please stop crying I know I am too Irresistible to live with out, but I am here now”

“Ha-ha Mirai” I mutter falling in to his arms he holds me close no hesitations as he mutters comforting words. I can feel him all around me his ki say more then what he could say with simple words. The fears each of us had were gone

“I am here for you always Gohan I will never leave you alone, even if I have to brake into HFIL itself I will find you and be with you” he whispers I say nothing I do not need to I know he means it I am safe with in his arms

In the living room of the wooded shack…

Vegeta’s POV

I am satisfied the two will be alright now, I watched as Gohan talked to Trunks until the door opened, the words he said and the ones he did not as my son held onto him.

I slowly walked away from the doorframe to the bedroom they where is walking back into the living room of the small shack Trunks had made for him and Gohan. I suppressed my ki and the pain I am in they need to be with each other long enough to show Gohan he will be safe now. It was why I stayed away so long in the first place so they could learn to rely on each other I should have known better maybe this would have turned out better

“At least they can have what I denied myself for so long, AHHGRR this pain is getting old here.” I growled as I headed towards a small hammock that was swinging in the corner of this old shack, it was by an open window.

I bet this is where Trunks sleeps I thought, then nearly dropped dead from shock when I saw there was some one in it. The figure on the hammock made my heart stop as he stopped swinging and looks at me his dark eye reading my soul.

“You sure it is the pain that is getting old or are you getting old my prince?” I blinked in surprise I could not believe it that Baka was swinging there as if he never left, he smiled not his stupid smile but one reserved only for me, possibly Gohan has seen it too maybe once when he was younger

“Baka” I growled but the happiness I felt at see him again took the biting edge off my growl

“Hi nice to see you to Vegeta, are you ready to come home now?”

“Home?” I did not dare to hope he has come for me or that this pain would be gone

“Yes you kept your word, he is safe and happy I could not ask for more though I never meant you to nearly kill yourself protecting him. Vegeta my friend it is time for you to be happy, your turn to rest they will be fine together.” I looked up

“No I need to make sure they will be ok” I say backing away I needed to make sure my son would live and Gohan would be safe

“Vegeta he says moving towards me “They will be fine I promise come you have done what you said you did and more then I could ever have hoped for, now Vegeta come home we have a lot of time too make up for” His eyes were shining he was right I smiled nodding

“Vegeta let go he is safe you can feel him he is well Gohan is willing to live what more can you ask” Again I feel for the two they are content each of their ki’s so filled with love and hope, with a smile I close my eyes for the last time falling forward into the waiting arms, as they tightened around me.

A sighed of relief escapes my lips as the pain was gone completely for the first time since Kaccorot was taken from me by that dragon years ago, now I was pain free mind and body, relived in knowing the two boys will protect each other.

Gohan, for the first time since his family banished him wants to live, he want to live for one who loves him. My son, Trunks the one who came threw time to save Gohan will finally have peace as they love each other.

I will watch them from the place he takes me too he has no choice in that matter

“Vegeta they will be fine stop worrying so much” I chuckle remembering the rules Trunks gave Gohan on their island. He looks down at me quirking an eye brow in question

“Never mind baka just take me to this home you mentioned”

“As you wish my Prince” He whispers in my ear

“Suck up” I whisper as he take us to the place that is to be our new home. I feel the boys in the room but can not respond as my mind is filling with him and his love

“They will never see us again will they?” I ask him

“Not until it is their time and Yama said you and I can get them when that is time, we will bring them to him and from there where ever they are meant to be” I smile not asking any more just enjoying his touch as he holds me close. I do regret one thing the way I left it was going to hurt Gohan I was all he had now Trunks is there but there is a chance it might not be enough all I can do is watch and hope for the best.
