Chapter 5 A New home
Mirai’s POV
Many hours later I found a deserted island on the farthest side of our world, the sun was up and it looked to be mid-day from its position in the sky. Looking around me I could see plenty of fruit and fish for eating, lots of trees and bushes to keep us hidden just in case of unwanted visitors or any weather mother nature wants to throw our way. Nodding my head deciding to stay awhile I set Gohan down under a palm tree looking at his older face as he slept
There the shade should last awhile. You must not have slept in awhile your still sound a sleep, rest my friend. I leaned down and gave Gohan a soft kiss on the cheek, Gohan stirred a bit but did not wake.
“Wake up soon my love I need to see your eyes.” I whispered then getting up pulled out one of my capsules opening it took out my sword, I had it fix before I left this time so long ago I am glad now it will come in handy here I twisted it in the sun light making sure it was still sharp, I effortlessly cut threw a small tree to my left check I did not wake my companion I made ready to hunt for food then make a small but decent home for us.
A few days later…
Gohan’s POV
I woke up feeling hot and itchy slowly I opened my tired eyes wondering where I was
“Boy is it hot out. Where am I?” I asked the empty room I was in. Sitting up I felt stiff and sore, letting the blood in my head settle back down I listened to sound around me. I could hear the calls of birds and wild animals outside of the room I saw in. Curious, I hopped off the bed I was in, looking down at it, it was made of bamboo and leaves, the frame was well put together held by vines the part I was resting seems to be made of leaves and vine, taking a deep breath I inhaled the taste of salty sea air I knew I was some where in the southern tropics I recognised the leaves from on of the many books I studied as a child
“How did I get here, and where is here?” As if in answer, I heard thumping noise from outside. I walked toward the door of the room I was in and open the door, looking around I saw the door and frame was made from wood bark and leaves, opening it all the way I headed to the front door that I could see from where I was standing to the right of me I could see that there was an area for cooking, fruit all over the make shift counters space. It was a strange house everything was made out of bamboo and leaves of all kinds held together with vine and most likely mud to keep things cool. Shrugging I grabbed one of the bright yellow fruits and walked out too see what the noise was
The sun was bright in my eyes as they adjusted I heard the sounds of the sea and birds and that strange thumping again. Blinking the last of the sleep out of my eyes I looked at the surrounding area this small cabin was in the middle of the surrounding Palm trees. Finishing the delightful fruit I walked into the thick of the trees in front of me, the thumping noise was getting louder as I moved closer I was surprised to see a man about my age beating the heck out of a near by tree. With one swift kick it fell to the ground with a thump, the man did not see me yet so I went closer too see who this was and maybe figure out where I was and why.
I saw damp dark lavender hair pulled back with a black band, the hair shifted with its owner back and forth as the figure moved. I watched transfixed on his well muscled body, this man was so familiar to me but from where, I was trying to figure this out until I saw the eyes that were now looking over at me. The eyes looking at me were royal blue and so full of pain and loss but cleared a bit as he looked at me.
Hey why is he here? I thought as he recognised the figure.
“Why are you here Trunks or better yet why am I here?” I hadn’t realised I had spoken aloud until he smiled at me as he started to walk over to where I stood transfixed to the sandy ground, something tugging at the back of my mind caused me to step back a little
“You’re awake, about time how you feeling Gohan?” The voice was wrong, it was deeper then Trunks’ voice should be, studding him more I saw he was more built then Trunks was, you could see this man in front of me train daily not spent a life behind a desk.
As he moved into the sunlight I saw that there was another thing that was different he was older and then the Trunks I knew. Looking at sword in the figures hand my eyes opened wide as I tried figuring out what was going on that was his sword I was sure of it but the figure was wrong
Ok that explains the strange thumping noise, it was the sword hitting the wood of the fruit tree, knowing this I know for sure it is not ‘Mr. I doesn’t want my hands dirty or mom will yell at me’ so who are you and why I am here? And that hair your mother would skin you alive if she saw it that long The figure smiled a small smile waiting for m to answer his questionI remember now, this is the one who stopped me from… I thought as I remembered what I tried to do and someone stopping, wanting answers I decided to pull my fathers trick and play naive
“Ya Were am I? And why are you here shouldn’t you be with Goten?” The figure snorted then said
“You my dear man are on an old deserted island in the middle of nowhere, with a crazy loon from your past, why?” I put on my (oh so loveable) confused look.My past? I thought, again I saw what had happened how I was going to end things when someone stopped me that is were things got fuzzy.
My past, the only one who might have looked like…oh for the love of any one but you I thought as I said aloud
“Mirai, Is that you?” Mirai almost choke at the way I made my voice sound so surprised and innocent
“Yep that’s me, gee wiz Gohan we have been threw this already, getting forgetful in your old age?” Mirai half teased me
“No, just trying to remember what happened, sorry I thought you were this times Trunks, ok I need to think… (Owe)” I said as I was winded from being pushed into a near by tree, Mirai half pinning me there. I could smell the sea and sweet coming off the man in front of me, a warmth filling me as I looked into my old friends eyes his eyes were filled with fear
What is wrong and why do you care? I thought as Mirai spoke to me I could hear the pain and worry in his deep voice
“NO!! You are not to think about anything right now! Just rest ok? You can figure it out later ok. Please Gohan just let me take care of everything and you.” I pushed Mirai back a strange feeling coming over me
“And if I don’t feel like it, who do you think you are to tell me what to do?” Mirai Trunks raised an eyebrow at the challenging tone in my voice,
“I told you, I crazed loon old from your past” Mirai gave me an evil grin I just shook my head. It was hard to pick out the dreams from what had happen that day. So many things were un-clear, like why was Mirai there to begin with and why am I here on an island with Mirai alone? So many questions that needing answers but they would wait I felt tire and for once I just wanted to tell the world to back off. My head was spinning from the heat and the conflicting emotions in my tired mind. I let the darkness take me hoping I would not wake I can not deal with this not now I just don’t care any more
Mira POV
I caught Gohan as he fell against me still fatigued from sleepless nights and the neglect of his health. I carried him back to shelter lying him back on the bed I had made for him, sitting down on the floor by the bed I leaned against the bed frame I made out of bamboo branches. I was already getting hot touching Gohans’ bare shoulder it was making my groin harden at the thought of what I could do to the man near me but he was so fragile I feared I would never be able to tell him how I truly felt but like I said to father as long as I can be near him and help him I would be happy, I want to see him smile again.
