Prologue
Ever since the battle against the Tuffles was won, the Saiyan race had the opportunity to expand in the technological field. They acquired healing pods, advanced spaceships, convenient gadgets to aid them in their daily life. They also advanced drastically in the biochemical and genetic sectors. They could now create clones made from their most powerful warriors. These Synthetic Saiyans, however, were faulty, doomed to fail some way or another; respiratory complications after being taken out of the incubator, self destruction because their ki was too unstable, or the cub's digestive system would just not tolerate food and keeping it alive with intravenous nourishment was a waste of expensive resources. Two out of five Synthetic Saiyans lived long enough to reach adulthood.
However, most of my brothers who were able to survive the initial rapid aging stage, would either succumb to insanity later on and be euthanized, or get destroyed by some power hungry Sand Saiyan that couldn't live with the fact that we were being created.
The clone production should've stopped, but not all the clones turned out to be faulty, and it was because of the very few of us that were successful that scientists kept trying to make more Synthetic Saiyans. Very few of us grew up to be powerful warriors and/or useful in bearing cubs, and apparently that was reason enough to keep trying to clone Saiyans.
As a warrior race, Saiyans were always losing lives on the battlefield. Their numbers would dwindle. Saiyans hated the idea of having fake replicas of themselves. They believed it was an insult to their Goddess, their creator. But for the sake of conquering other worlds and keeping their numbers up, it was a necessary evil.
Yes, we were considered a necessary evil, and evil tends to go hand in hand with misery. A misery brought on by our own creators as we were discriminated against, treated like lowlifes. We were the expendable Saiyans.
As Synthetic Saiyans, clones, we had it hard. Always looked down upon, never respected by the majority of the populace. Never able to find happiness or live a 'normal' life. We were tools. Disposable extras in battles.
