After the spar Gohan took Trunks to the place he had basically been brought up. Trunks had heard the story before, but he still had a hard time believing Goku had left his son to be brought up by an alien anyone had hardly trusted back then.

Gohan talked fondly of his mentor, but there was obviously a lot of bad blood among the people involved in the ordeal. Chichi had never forgiven neither Goku nor Piccolo. Piccolo obviously thought Goku a perfect example of a cuckoo dumping her eggs on others. Gohan, meanwhile, had grown up with a feeling of abandonment and had only half-understood while his father had done it.

Even now, when the two lay under a tree to escape the hot sun. Gohan was brooding while lost in his memories.
