129 : Reinforcements

Gohan understood that he had overdone with his power-up only about ten minutes later when not only his father and Trunks had appeared at the cave, but also Vegeta and Piccolo. That wasn’t a bad thing in itself, though. It was always a good idea to have them as backup. Vegeta was obviously itching for a fight even though he looked as disinterested as ever. Piccolo had been worried that Gohan had been attacked and had come to his rescue. It was going to take some time to explain what was going on. Goku gladly took over the task.

Trunks watched Goku from aside and couldn’t help grinning. It was somewhat sad too, to see how right his mother had been about the man. Nothing ever made Goku as happy as an imminent fight. From the entire story of Trunks’ arrival his thoughts kept jumping to the recent Gohan and the destroyed android’s fight and back and he kept complimenting his son’s progress and how quickly he had found the androids’ hideout. He had suddenly turned into an exemplary dad. He kept patting Gohan’s head too. The teenager, not used to so much praise and attention, kept blushing awkwardly. He was obviously very happy with the unexpected approval.

Their chitchat suddenly stopped at the sounds of something crashing and exploding deep within the cave. In a few moments, the party saw two androids walking out of the cave.
