Not everything is a bed of roses. And roses usually have thorns. Animals that prey upon smaller animals are quite a big thorn in the Saiyans’ daily life.

Cubs get eaten more often than adults. They make an easier target rather than a powerful grown up Saiyan. Many animals know this, thus, prey upon the smaller Saiyans.

There are many places that are banned due to large amount of predators inhabiting them, predators like this hard skinned, ki deflecting, Dune Dweller. But cubs being cubs go to these places to get a thrill, or to prove themselves. Many times, it’s the last thrill they’ll feel.
