On the day of the competition Gohan was full of nerves. Anxious. Trembling. Soon he could see Trunks' progress…how the hardships of Vegeta's training had molded his frame into something agile. Beautiful. He was so excited he bumped into some of the other competitors as he rushed through the arena center. Goku grabbed him by the collar. “Easy, there. I know you’re excited but slow down. No need to cut in front of everyone else.”

The teen blushed darkly, eyes lowered to the floor. “You’re right. Sorry..” He tugged on his green jogging suit but callus hands took his shoulders. “We have done all we could, son. You look great so don’t worry! Feel that? I can feel Vegeta and Trunks!”

Brown eyes lifted and sure enough, he was met by blue eyes. They startled him. Melted his heart. Like a fool he smiled wide and waved. “Mirai!!”

From across the room Trunks blushed darkly. “Did he just call me…”

Vegeta scoffed. “The boy is as big of a buffoon as his father. Kakkarot! A week of training and you look like you haven’t gained at all!”

Goku smirked as they came up. “I was saving it for you, but if you insist on making a scene…” The goofy man settled in his power and the presence of it was so great normal men felt it and backed up.

Vegeta cursed. “Show off. At least the boy has been training, but he still has that stupid look on his face!”

Trunks smirked. “You really went all out…one more week and you’d need a new jacket…”

Gohan looked confused, but then he heard a rip from his jacket. “Oh..heh…”

The older saiyans smiled at them. “Yeah yeah go out there and win, brat!”

Goku laughed weakly. “Have fun you guys.”

The competition was simple. They were tested on their physique, endurance, and the ability to maintain poses that detailed their newly gained muscle. There were several rounds and they were each ranked down on their skill.

As competitors dropped from the ranks Gohan got excited. He could just barely make out Trunks across the stage. He heard his number called and stumbled to the middle of the stage. Beside him several men were stretching and posing, so he posed too.

“Number 33 step forward!”

Gohan stepped forward and bowed.

“Number 29 step forward!”

Trunks blushed as he stepped forward.

An hour later they were sitting in the dressing room with the trophy sitting on the bench between them. Trunks scoffed. “Father is going to be pissed. A tie? He hates ties.”

“It doesn’t matter. Trunks-“

The older demi looked down at his feet and bit his lip. “I have something to say. I’ve been thinking about that night and if I’m honest, it scared me, kid. I really didn’t know why I was still hanging around here…after everything. I didn’t want to pretend everything was the way it was before. That night made me realize I have a place here…with you. I didn’t want to say so before because I was scared..” He looked up and his eyes glazed with unshed tears. “I love you, Gohan…I’m ready for…whatever you are ready for.”

Gohan trembled and reached for tanned cheeks. “Trunks…I love you too!!”

Before they could express their happiness in came a screaming Vegeta. “Don’t you tell me!! I fucking know I won Kakkarot!”

“You didn’t!!”

Gohan stood up angrily. “It doesn’t matter! Me and Trunks are dating now so you can use us for your silly grudge!”

Goku blushed. “Well even I knew that! Me and Vegeta are too-”

Trunks blushed as the older prince grabbed him by the collar. “Shut up Kakkarot!! Look boy, I don’t care that you two are dating! Who won!!”

Trunks smirked over at Gohan who grinned back snarkily. “It was a tie…”

“A TIE?!! A FUCKING TIE?!! WHERE ARE THOSE LAZY HUMAN JUDGES!!”

Goku laughed weakly. “Now, Geta, you promised to accept the judges decision-Vegeta wait-“

“I'LL FUCKING KILL THEM!!”
