Chapter 01: Prologue
He was cold, wet, and miserable. He held his thin jacket closer to his body. It did little to keep the cold away from him but he clung to it regardless. He wanted to go home but he knew there was no more home for him to go to. He buried his face between his knees, trying hard not to cry.
He had to remember that as bad as things were, they could be worse. He had to focus on the good in the situation but he was having a hard time finding any good in the situation.
He was alive, that was a good thing.
He wasn't hurt, that was another good thing.
He was alone and scared.. that wasn't a good thing.
He didn’t know where he was and he couldn't remember how he’d gotten here, that was definitely not a good thing.
Focusing on good things wasn't as easy as he thought. He wrapped his arms tighter around himself and slowly raised his head to stare at the sky. “Please… Kami-sama… send someone to help me.”
