Chichi was very upset at the sight of the tattoo-like marks on her son’s arm. She didn’t know how this indecency had happened, but it was clear to her that nothing of the sort would have transpired if she had been with Gohan, watching over him.

In the kitchen, while she was preparing lunch, she listened to her son and Trunks’ story or, at least, a variation of it, and her feelings shifted from annoyance to pride. The tattoo was just a small price to pay for a person’s life. At that moment, she was very proud of Gohan. It had also occurred to her, but only briefly, that Gohan wouldn’t have asked her whether he was allowed to get a tattoo or not. Now, there was someone else whose opinion had more weight than hers.
