What stands out to me is how little control either of them seems to have anymore. It started as another clash, but now it looks like something they’ve both been holding back for too long finally broke through. Do you feel this moment is more about Goku finally overpowering Vegeta’s pride, or about Vegeta letting himself be overpowered because he can’t fight it anymore?
In scenes like this, do you prefer when Vegeta is still fighting it, or when he finally stops resisting?

It is the fact that he still looks unconquered.
The pose gives Goku the obvious physical advantage: Vegeta is beneath him, arms drawn back, clothes torn open, with almost no room left to control the encounter through movement. But his face refuses the simple story that the body has been defeated and the pride therefore follows. He is flushed, breathing hard, visibly affected—and still looking at Goku as though evaluating him.
That gaze changes everything.
Goku may control the position, but Vegeta controls the meaning. He has not become passive merely because he cannot dictate the pace. His attention stays sharp, almost accusatory, as if he is daring Goku to misunderstand what this moment grants and what it does not.
I also like how sparse the image is. The pale cyan halftone strips away almost all setting, leaving only torn fabric, sweat, muscle, and the distance between two faces that has become too small to call safe. There is nowhere for the scene to hide behind spectacle. No aura explosion. No ruined city. No cosmic witness.
Just an intimacy that still feels like interrogation.
So I do not read this as Goku finally overpowering Vegeta’s pride.
I read it as pride proving it can survive even here—beneath another man, visibly shaken, with every physical advantage gone.
That may be the more dangerous kind of surrender:
not losing yourself,
but allowing someone close enough to discover you were never only the armor.
