It was a simple matter to steal the ship. I’d helped build it after all and Trunks had flown it on test runs over the past year. He worked beside me without a word and soon we were making our unscheduled leaving of Earth.

Stinking, no-good, weak planet Earth.

I smirked at Trunks’s laughter as we held our palms against the glass toward the silently turning planet. As our ki gathered on the other side of the tempered glass and shot out, reaching swiftly, needle-like toward the earth’s core.

The explosion was beautiful, just like I’d imagined it would be! I could see as the magma pushed through tectonic plates, the molten rock making Earth look as though she were a mosiac.

Beautiful. The explosion was red as blood, white light and golden sun all mixed together, pushing apart the Earth. Expanding from within.

I’d never seen something so beautiful before and I laughed with the joy of it.

“No need to be in a hurry to get them… I want to see more of the universe first,” I encouraged Gohan as we sped away from the beautiful sight. “I want to see more beautiful shows like this, can we Gohan?”

“We will,” he answered and I smiled, sitting back in the chair that I’d taken for my own.

Madness, firmly rooting itself within their young hearts. Death does something to a person… unexpected death even more so.

Along with stealing life, it steals balance. To Trunks Briefs, revenge had never been so beautiful. To Gohan Son, it had never felt so fulfilling.

Smiles tugged at their mouths as they saw another planet closing in. It had no life upon it, but it was promising.

Promising to be beautiful as it was erased from existence.

“It’s too pretty,” he says with disgust. I find myself nodding in agreement. Purples and blues, greens and yellows, all mixing, swirling around each other, liberally dosed with red.

Blood red.

I want to see more blood.

“Then hurry up and destroy it – I want to hear screams before I go to sleep tonight.”

Screaming… yes, that would be a beautiful sound to sing me to sleep. He lets me take this planet as my own, and my energy gathers, slicing needle like into the planet.

Its death was not so spectacular as that upon our home planet. Its beauty was more in atmosphere than matter.

“Disgusting.”

I had to agree.

“What planet is that?” Trunks asked, pointing toward a small, green blue looking world.

“Yardrat,” Gohan responded, looking at the star-chart.

“Isn't that where your father learned Instant Transmission?”

“Yes.”

“We should make them teach us… before we kill them.”

“We will,” Gohan smiled, “Screams of anguished betrayal would be so much sweeter than just regular screams. Don’t you agree?”

“But I’m getting tired,” Trunks sat down. “I want-”

“Be patient… we’ll still hear screams before we have to sleep.”

“Good.”

And they laughed, for the Kais had taken away what was of most import to them. It was time… to take away what the Kais held most important.

And, after all, what was more important, than the universe you ruled over?
