It took Gohan and Trunks days to recover from their last fight. On the second day, when they were changing their bloody bandages the two were surrounded by solemn air. Gohan finished putting a new bandage on Trunks’ wrist and rubbed at his own bloodshot eye. He still couldn’t see anything through the puffed out eyelid and was a little worried about his eye functioning properly ever again.

“This was the stupidest idea ever to go this far,” Trunks said, watching him. “I’m sorry.”

Gohan touched his eye again. “Well, Dad said that every near-death experience increases a Saiyan’s power in a significant way. If it’s true, now we should be twice as strong as before.”

Trunks chuckled. “Only that now we’re too crippled to find out if it’s true.”
