This restored Maetel sketch feels raw in exactly the way old web VegeKaka often did best. With only line art, soft shading, and almost no visual distraction, the image strips everything down to pressure, posture, and intent. Vegeta is all forward motion here — close, tense, possessive, unable or unwilling to disguise what he wants — while Kakarot’s body language holds that familiar ambiguity old fandom loved so much: not simple surrender, not simple resistance, but the charged stillness of someone caught by a force he understands more deeply than he wants to admit.

What makes the piece especially compelling is how clearly it turns intimacy into a continuation of their rivalry rather than an escape from it. The bed does not soften them into ordinary lovers. It becomes another Saiyan territory, another place where closeness is negotiated through pride, challenge, and the refusal to appear vulnerable first. Vegeta’s hand on Kakarot’s shoulder says almost everything: this is desire expressed in the language of a prince who trusts intensity more than tenderness. And yet the very act of closing that distance reveals tenderness anyway, whether he intends it or not.

The sketch quality adds a great deal to the atmosphere. Because the image is unfinished-looking and minimal, it feels more private — almost like a fragment pulled straight from the hidden heart of early DBZ BL fandom. There is no polished theatricality here, no decorative framing to guide the reading. Just two bodies, one shared space, and the unmistakable old web instinct to make VegeKaka feel physical, emotional, and a little dangerous all at once. That roughness is part of its power. It does not dilute the emotion; it exposes it.

Do you read this scene as Vegeta trying to claim Kakarot in the only way he knows how — through pressure and control — or as one of those rare moments where desire has already made him more vulnerable than he would ever allow himself to say?
