Gohan was too tired to even move. His whole body was one big bruise, but he hardly felt the pain. The exhaustion had tempted his body and mind to enter a peculiar stage of apathy where he hardly cared about what happened to him. The apparent apathy, though, had ironically been caused by his anger. He didn’t mind the vigorous training, neither did he mind losing all the time. What he wasn’t fine with was that he didn’t see any point in the training itself. He wasn’t even given a chance to defend himself. He figured that the way the training was going now, he wasn’t going to learn anything. They should have just thrown stones at him until he was near dying or should have just buried him under a pile of rocks – the result would have been the same. He was half-dead already and didn’t want to move an inch.

Goku and Trunks, though weren’t having that. Gohan’s lethargy was an insult to a warrior’s spirit. Goku soon surmised that an avalanche would be a perfect way to shake off Gohan’s apathy.
