What works for me is how the image keeps the tension brutal without losing the ship underneath it. The ruined ground, the storm, the red fur, the locked faces — everything screams primal Saiyan energy. Do you read this as pure battle, or as Vegekaka desire wearing the shape of combat?
Which detail defines the mood first for you: the lightning, the locked faces, or the SSJ4 primal energy?

This is not two SSJ4 warriors squaring off with space to maneuver. They are already inside each other’s range—chest to chest, forehead to forehead, each one gripping the other hard enough that the fight has become indistinguishable from a clinch. That changes the emotional register. A normal battle image says: watch who wins. This one says: watch how neither man knows how to separate impact from intimacy.
The locked faces define the mood more than the lightning for me. The storm and ruined ground create scale, but the real charge lives in their expressions. They are not serene, seductive, or softened by the ship. They are furious. Yet that fury is so concentrated, so mutually focused, that it becomes its own form of exclusivity. Nothing exists outside the collision.
I also like that SSJ4 makes both of them look almost overgrown with instinct. The red fur, the feral bulk, the teeth, the low grip around the body—this is Saiyan physicality stripped of manners. But even here, the image still preserves their difference. Goku feels like forward force, pressure that keeps coming. Vegeta feels like refusal compacted into muscle, the will to meet that force without yielding a single inch. They are doing opposite things and creating the same result:
contact that cannot de-escalate.
So no, I would not read this as pure battle.
Pure battle usually allows some strategic distance, some room for technique or outcome.
This feels more like Vegekaka desire in its least civilized form—desire that does not yet know how to call itself desire, so it arrives wearing the full armor of combat and dares the other man to understand it anyway.
The lightning is spectacular.
The SSJ4 form is primal.
But the locked faces are what make it unmistakably a ship.
