The stranger brought in by her son didn’t inspire any trust in Chichi whatsoever. Reluctantly, she took the letter from the stranger’s hand. His weak, apologizing smile unnerved her and made her feel uncomfortable.

It was a letter from her future self apparently. At first, angry at such a vile prank, Chichi only skimmed over the lines. Then, she read the letter again. And then again.

Chichi turned around to face the lavender-haired youth. Her older, wiser self had told her to trust him. There was going to be a battle that she had to get ready for. If she took no action, both her son and husband would die.

“Ma’am..?” Trunks mumbled, unsure, as the woman kept staring at him intently.

Chichi folded the letter and lowered it onto the table. “He’s there,” she said, motioning at the door leading to Goku’s room.
