The end of the ritual was marked by the glowing lights on the floor dying out. Their tattoo-like markings on their arms flashed one last time and then their red color turned black now looking even more like real tattoos.
Still overwhelmed they inspected their arms and each other.
“How do you feel?” Gohan asked.
“This should be my question. Feel any different?”
“Nope, same as usual. You?”
“Actually, much better. The tingling sensation in my limbs has disappeared as well.”
“It’s a success, then,” Gohan summed up. “We’ve got cool tattoos out of it as well. Feels a bit like we’ve got matching rings or something.”
Trunks looked at Gohan’s grinning face.
“Kidding,” Gohan said, leaning in to plant a quick peck on the older man’s cheek. “Welcome to my timeline.”
Trunks chuckled. “Quite generous, aren’t you?”
